Zehir, The Cloaked Serpent

Overview

Zehir, the Cloaked Serpent is an evil god of poisons, assassins, and darkness. He is the creator of snakes and also of yuan-ti. Most of his followers were annihilated during the Calamity, and those who survived are in self-induced stasis or hunted by the followers of Lolth, the Spider Queen and Torog, the Crawling King.

Appearance and symbols

Many depictions of him can be found in his long forgotten and abandoned temples. He takes the form of a man's body with a half-dozen arms and a gargantuan fanged serpent head, with strands of thick, dark hair sprouting from his scaled body that swirl around to form layers of shadow, obscuring his entire form.

Symbol: Coiled serpent

Personality

Zehir is cunning and insidious, with an unyielding desire for chaos and control over the darkest aspects of existence. His serpentine form symbolizes deceit and treachery; he thrives in environments where shadows obscure truth, using his many arms to weave a web of lies that ensnare the unwary. With a coldly calculating mind, Zehir revels in betrayal, always planning several steps ahead while remaining hidden behind layers of obfuscation. He exudes an aura of malevolence and unpredictability—traits that keep those who follow him constantly on edge, eager to prove their loyalty through acts of treachery or cruelty. To encounter Zehir is to be ensnared in a labyrinthine dance with death itself, where survival hinges not just on skill but the ability to navigate his sinister machinations without succumbing to despair.

Commandments

Info

  • Keep your acts obfuscated and secret. The night is your greatest ally.
  • Strike quickly and without reason. Blind the target with their own confusion.
  • Kill slowly. Agonizingly. Or worse, make them enjoy it.
