Asmodeus, the Lord of the Hells, is the devil god of the Nine Hells and represents mastery of tyranny and domination. He relishes corrupting mortal souls with his honeyed words. He rules his domain with an iron fist and the punishments he inflicts for crossing him are legendary. Devils and other evil entities pay him tribute, while warlocks are drawn to his power.

Appearance and symbols

Once a celestial, Asmodeus is depicted in many tomes and murals as a handsome humanoid of deep red skin and long black hair with two curling horns rising from his brow. He has stated that originally, as a celestial, he was objectively considered the most beautiful, but since his fall his appearance changes to match the most beautiful face the viewer has seen.

Asmodeus, the Lord of the Hells, embodies the quintessence of Lawful Evil—a deity who values order and control above all else but uses these principles to foster tyranny and suffering. His once celestial beauty now morphs into an idealized form that reflects each observer’s deepest desires or fears, symbolizing his manipulative nature. Asmodeus is cunning, coldly calculating, and driven by a relentless ambition for power and domination. He thrives on chaos sown from order, revelling in the torment of others as they rise to meet their own ends under his iron rule. His interactions are marked by an insidious charm designed to ensnare those who seek him out while ensuring their ultimate downfall. Beneath his seemingly composed exterior lies a ruthless strategist who sees every individual as either a tool for achieving greater control or an obstacle that must be ruthlessly crushed.
